A First

We bought our first Christmas tree!! It's about 3 feet tall...

We also had to get a tree stand & some lights...but that's two less things we'll have to buy in the future! There are no ornaments, nor a topper...but it's cute and we have one. I hope to take pictures of it, and maybe post one sometime in December. I won't promise because the time might fly by and I won't get to it.

Anyway, our first tree

A Revelation

First off - IT SNOWED!!! Yay! It looks so pretty...*sigh*

And now to what I really wanted to post about...

There is someone I've been getting to know a bit better over the last few months, and they just had this revelation that I wanted to share with those who come to read my blog...I have just copied and pasted it...

it's not about me

so, i just had this revelation! this can sound totally proud and aweful, but just wait:

the pain in my life is not about me.

the burdens i choose to bear are not all my own.

i choose to bear the burdens of those that are closest to my heart, because i love them so much

the pain i allow to be inflicted upon me is because of issues and burdens gathered years ago by other people!

it's not about me!!

the pain i feel, the ache deep inside me, the wounds i choose to accept are not caused by me. -how freeing-

but then, not so freeing-

if they are not caused by me, then the people i accept these pains and burdens from are bearing the load hundreds of times more...and what i experience is only a splattering overflow that has accidentally escaped from their heart which they have tried so hard to keep calm and controlled - for probably too long

well now my heart breaks for these people...

i want to make it better, to take their hurt away, to heal their wounds...but that's not mine to do either.

and if it's not mine to heal them then whose it is? is it God's? i think it is.

but if it's God's then why hasn't he done anything about it yet? why does he allow these people to continue in their misery? because God created us each with the capability to make our own choices...to choose our own way...to choose to hold on to the things that have hurt us in the past...to choose to let them go and live...that's huge!!!

so, why do we choose to soak in our misery?
something to think about...

Remember when

I thought it was time for a change...a new blog year and so a new blog template.

Anyway...

I was curious to see what I had posted about a year ago...and this is what I found:

What Hasn't Changed?

The problem is that I still haven't allowed God to break down my walls. I still don't trust him enough to not break my heart. I still don't believe he is safe. When will I know this? Can I ever truly know?

It might snow!!!

Yes, I am excited about the possibility of snow! I love the snow, and since I've been walking to work for almost two months now, I'm looking forward to the change. I have however really enjoyed crunching through the leaves as they have fallen...what wonderful memories such a simple sound brings to mind.

Tonight is another Moto night...a time of scheduled controlled chaos. It's a beautiful thing really.

And the hunt contiues

I've been putting out resumes again, hoping for a permanent position to make itself known. I'm hoping something good will come from this batch...

Last night we got to watch little Nathan Troyer...such a cutie. It's gonna be fun to watch him grow up.

One of those emails

So, a co-worker shared this email with me. I giggled to myself as I read through it, and it will probably only be funny to my female readers. And so to them I present:
==============================
National Girlfriends Day
What would most of us do without our sisters, confidants and shopping, lunching, and traveling girls? Let's celebrate each other for each other's sake!
TO MY GIRLFRIENDS!
It is good to be a woman:
  1. we got off the Titanic first.
  2. we can scare male bosses with the mysterious gynecological disorder excuses.
  3. taxis stop for us.
  4. we don't look like a frog in a blender when dancing.
  5. no fashion faux pas we make could ever rival the Speedo.
  6. we don't have to pass gas to amuse ourselves.
  7. if we forget to shave, no one has to know.
  8. we can congratulate our teammate without ever touching her rear end.
  9. we never have to reach down every so often to make sure our privates are still there.
  10. we have the ability to dress ourselves.
  11. we can talk to the opposite sex without having to picture them naked.
  12. if we marry someone 20 years younger, we are aware that we will look like an idiot.
  13. we will never regret piercing our ears.
  14. there are times when chocolate really can solve all your problems.
  15. we can make comments about how silly men are in their presence because they aren't listening anyway.

Anniversaries!
